My work

I mainly work in series; multiple works of art around the same idea, theme, philosophy or subject matter, but now and then I create something that has no connection (yet) with any other work of mine.

Ceramic Paintings

This category contains original painted works on a ceramic tile. The actual painting is done by applying pigments to the base with brushes, knives, sponges, ribs and filler knives.

Masks

This series was inspired by masks from all over the world; Igbo (Nigeria), the Adouma (Gabon), but also by ancient theater masks. Each with its own identity, shape and appearance.

Shields

From masks to shields. It seems a big step, but if you take a close look at my last masks, you’ll see that it was inevitable. All these shields have a rather worn appearance.

Cemetery of Forgotten Books

A series of ceramic books with signatures of handmade paper, inspired by the novel “The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafón.

Boxes

A growing collection of boxes often emerged from a study of uselessness and tactility. All show an element of alienation, wear and just a pinch of magic

Miscellaneous

Various ceramic works that don’t fit into one of the series. Ranging from sculptures to interesting forms and experiments.
